I don’t like to spend money on wreaths, I always feel like they are way over priced. I wanted to make a burlap one because a lot of the decor in my house is burlap/farmhouse, plus my front door is a dark chocolate brown so I needed something light colored that would stand out from the road. I bought a wired wreath form and 3-4 burlap ribbon spools that were about 3 inches wide.

Bulletin Boards in kids rooms
When we moved into this house, the kid’s bedrooms both had this cool board on one wall. I had so many ideas for what I could make these into, ex – chalkboards, white boards, corkboards. The kids that had been in this house before us were college-age, so the existing boards were covered in fabric that was floral and had seen better days.
Burlap Initial Wall Decor
I had a frame that the glass had broken in a move, but I still wanted to use it for something so I built a simple wall decor by using burlap and writing on it. I used a stencil for the initial “P”, placed it where I wanted it, and drew on the burlap with a permanent marker. For the writing below the Initial I just typed on the computer our names and date of when we got married in the font and size I wanted and printed it out.
Shamrock Hallway Wall Decor
When we found a handful of 4 leaf clovers in our front yard, I had to make something with them especially because some of them were huge! First thing I did was press them into a book so they would dry out and flatten. I laid them out flat in a thick book and closed it for a few days. When they were dry, I layered a couple pieces of scrap book paper using scrapbook glue and then I attached the shamrock on top. I placed each one in a frame and then arranged them in the hallway around a wall decal.
Dandelion Painted on Stained Wood
Our Master bedroom and bathroom is decorated with floral prints, and when I was looking to put something on the wall in the bathroom I decided to make a painting of a dandelion. I am not a great painter but I saw a print like this and thought it would be easy to replicate and it was.
Floral Scrapbook Paper Canvas
This was my first project using “Mod Podge.” I had a canvas that I wanted to do something with so I made a petal design from a piece of card stock and used that as my templet to cut out a bunch of petals with 4 different scrapbook paper patterns/colors. I arranged them on each edge of the canvas to look like half of a flower.
DIY Bow Holder
Every little girl deserves a place to put/collect her bows! This was originally a bulletin board that I covered in fabric and stapled down. I then found a ribbon that would match her room and stapled it in vertical stripes. The bows can easily slip on and off the ribbon for those crazy mornings getting ready and trying to get out the door. We placed this above her changing table as a baby, and now that she is older it is over her dresser.
Button Tree Wall Decor
In my craft room, I wasn’t going to spend money to decorate the walls. I wanted to make something that would go with the colors of the room but also were “crafty”. I had a canvas that I decided to draw and paint a tree trunk, and then for the leaves, I used buttons of different colors and sizes and glued them in place.
Handmade Ruler Wall Decor
I wanted to make something to measure my kids height that we could travel with, as we have moved around so much. I had seen these wooden rulers in the craft stores and I didn’t want to spend the money, I knew I could make it for a lot cheaper.
Family Hand Wall Decor
I made this simple framed wall decor many years ago when my son was about a year old. I used a mixture of some scrapbook paper and card stock, traced our hands and then cut out the hands and glued them on top of each other. I used colors that would match my dinning room, but it could be used anywhere in the house. I added my daughters hand when she was born and added a color that would still work with our dinning room.
